About Yoga

Yoga is an ancient science that has been refined over thousands of years to help all people live their best life.  Yoga was the first form of preventative physical therapy.  Yoga blends many different aspects into one practice:  breathing, postures, meditation, toning, and deep relaxation.  It integrates the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of your being.  The postures start easy and simple.  As you become more proficient the class will shift for your growing needs.  Most people can do most of the beginner postures on their very first day.  Most of the exercises consist of gentle movements that are coordinated with the breath. Yoga is mindful movement with breath. All movements are designed to stretch the body gradually and smoothly, and to stimulate circulation.  All classes end with either meditation or deep relaxation sometimes using sound current for healing.  Yoga is more than a system of exercises;  It is a powerful tool towards healing and expanding self awareness.
